Interest has been growing and I have been slacking, so I’ve setup an action plan to help me finish up my PHP eBook. I have scheduled when I will be working on each chapter of the PHP eBook, so it will be completed and ready for download on Monday, November 5th.

This Free PHP eBook will cover the very basics of PHP Programming and will have 10 lessons, with samples and exercises. If this book finds a good amount of interest and readers, then I will work on producing a second volume for more advanced use and to possibly include an introduction to using MySQL in conjunction with PHP. The PHP MySQL eBook would be out sometime in 2008.

Originally when I started this blog, it came with the intention of writing a PHP eBook. Right now I have 4 lessons done for the PHP eBook, and hadn’t given it much thought over the last few weeks because I’ve been preoccupied with moving and other life events. Today I was looking through my Google Analytics account and found that I’ve started to get more and more traffic from Google, and the top search is “PHP eBook” - which I can point to my previous SEO attempts to get links with the term “PHP eBook” as the anchor text.

I jumped over to Google and found that this site is currently ranking #5 for the search term “PHP eBook”, which I think is pretty cool. This site also shows up in various searches such as “Learn PHP eBook” and “eBook PHP”, among others.

Given these developments, I think it’s certainly worthwhile for me to continue writing my PHP eBook. If I can turn out a lesson every few days, I can have 10 - 12 lessons done relatively fast.
